Russian senators want only identified people to use e-mail

MOSCOW, Jul 23 (PRIME) -- The Russian senators submitted to the State Duma, the parliament’s lower house, on Tuesday a bill seeking to allow only users who were identified by the government to use the e-mail.

“Identification of e-mail users is proposed via a subscriber number on the basis of an identification contract signed by the organizer of an e-mail service with a connection operator,” an explanatory note to the bill said.

The bill would reduce the number of false terrorist messages distributed autonomously by the e-mail.

Along with the duty of identification, the e-mail service organizer the will have to ensure a technical option for the users to stop getting e-mails from other users.

Another bill submitted by the senators intends to force the e-mail service organizers to restrict distribution of messages with banned information within 24 hours after receipt of such a request from the government.
